Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quoting tool asks for your sex, date of birth, self-reported health status, nicotine use, desired coverage amount, and term length. Those six pieces of information are all that's needed to fetch rates from carriers. Your personal details, address, and medical information are collected only if you decide to proceed with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices displayed are what each carrier quotes for the underwriting class you indicated. The carrier determines your final premium during underwriting, which may result in a different class assignment. The quotes here are for reference only and are not a guarantee of any particular rate or coverage terms.
What happens when I click Apply?
Selecting apply takes you to a protected application form on the carriers' secure servers, prefilled with the information you entered. You are able to exit and return later without penalty, and all signing occurs online. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), processes all applications.
Will I need a medical exam?
The answer depends on the specific carrier, coverage amount, and your provided information. Many carriers now offer rapid underwriting programs that skip the exam for applicants within certain age and coverage parameters. Each quote clearly indicates whether an exam is mandatory, discretionary, or not needed.
Is a longer term better?
Your term should span the period during which your family would face financial hardship if your income stopped: typically including mortgage payments, dependent care, and education. Longer terms mean higher monthly costs but provide rate stability for more years. The quote tool lets you compare costs across 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year periods.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not gather personal identifiers. We do not market or transfer your data to third parties. Our site analytics are cookieless. For complete details on what data is collected and how it is managed, refer to the privacy page.
